Dear Dr. Wolfgang Schuster... Mayor of Stuttgart:

As guests to the last official program of 'ehemaligen Burger' in 2001 and the recipient of your thoughtful and appreciated annual letters, such as the last letter of 17 Dec. 2009, we would like to add our voice to the issue regarding 'Hotel Silber'. It has come to my attention that the former Stuttgarter GESTAPO headquarters, interrogation center and prison, located in the center of the city and known as Hotel Silber, is scheduled to be obliterated. It's to be replaced by a commercial enterprise. As you can imagine, our distinct preference is that this structure and its place in the history of Stuttgart be recognized and established as a notable remembrance of the NS period. We hope that our wish, surely joined by still other living 'Burgers' or the innumerable victims of the NS period no longer with us, will be realized.

PS.   I've taken the liberty to also send this letter to  Georg Von Pentz who over many years has been a faithful servant of Stuttgart, its place in history and the 'ehemaligen Burger' program.
